Mr. Bauer, 92 years old, was struggling with self-sufficiency and safety within his home. His wife, Dorothy, was unable to adequately assist him in the home due to her own limitations.
Concerned for her father-in-law, Susan reached out after he failed to ask for assistance from the VA. The VA recommended Susan contact Adapt A Vet to create a safer home environment.
Adapt A Vet rehabilitated the master bathroom from a step-in tub to a walk-in shower, complete with grab bars and a bench. This adaptation gave Mr. Bauer his independence to successfully take care of a critical daily living activity on his own.
Mr. Bauer, whose wife passed away during the adaption, now has the capability and self-reliance to remain in his home.
